Privacy Policy

The Short Version

File Transfer for Backblaze B2 collects no data about you. The app has no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, no third-party SDKs, and no server of ours behind it. Everything the app does happens between your Mac and your own Backblaze B2 account.

Your Backblaze Credentials

To connect, you enter a Backblaze B2 Application Key ID and Application Key. These are stored only in the macOS Keychain on your Mac and are sent only to Backblaze's own API over HTTPS to authenticate your account.

Your Files

Files you upload or download move directly between your Mac and Backblaze B2. There is no intermediary server. We never see, receive, or store your files or their names. Your relationship with Backblaze is governed by Backblaze's own privacy policy.

Data Stored on Your Mac

The app keeps a small amount of data locally, and only locally: your preferences (window layout, transfer settings), the folder-access permissions you grant, the state of unfinished transfers so they can resume after a restart, and — if you turn the option on — a CSV transfer report saved to a folder you choose. Deleting the app (and its container) deletes all of it.

What We Don't Do

• No analytics or usage statistics
• No crash reporting services
• No advertising or tracking of any kind
• No accounts with us — the app works entirely with your own Backblaze account
• No selling, sharing, or transferring of data — we never have any to begin with

Changes to This Policy

If a future version of the app changes any of the above, this page will be updated before that version ships, with a new effective date.
